  Italy in North Africa  
  The Italian government finally agreed to arbitration negotiations regarding the frontier dispute with Ethiopia. The League of Nations Council set up an arbitral tribunal to address the Ualual dispute. Italian participation was lackluster and it soon became clear that the Italians agreed to negotiate in an attempt to ward off League action.  
   
  The Royal Air Force  
  The Gloster Gauntlet Mk. I entered service with No 19 Squadron at RAF Duxford. The Gloster Gauntlet was the last open cockpit biplane to serve with the RAF. During the period 1935 to 1937 Gauntlets were the fastest fighters in RAF service.
