  The Gloster Gauntlet Mk II entered service with 56 Squadron and 111 Squadron. The Gloster Gauntlet was the last open cockpit biplane to serve with the RAF. During the period 1935 to 1937 Gauntlets were the fastest fighters in RAF service.
