Events occurring on Monday, October 31, 1938  
  The Second Czechoslovakian Crisis  
  Poland occupied the Zaolzie area of Czechoslovakia. Despite a threat by the Soviet Union to terminate the Polish-Soviet non-aggression treaty if Poland participated in the occupation of Czechoslovakia, the Soviets allowed the treaty to remain in force.
