  German Commerce Raiders  
  The Schiff 16-Atlantis anchored in Süderpiep Bay, Norway and adopted her first operational disguise as the Norwegian motorship Knute Nelson.  
   
  Ships Commissioned  
  A ship's commissioning was when the ship was handed over, post fittings and trials, to the end user which, in this case, was a combatant navy.  
  The destroyer HMS Atherstone (L 05) was commissioned. Her first commander was Commander Hugh W. S. Browning.
