  Mount Yuza was captured by the U.S. 381st Infantry Regiment on Okinawa.  
   
  Allied Submarine Warfare in the Pacific  
  The submarine USS Piranha (SS 389), commanded by Commander Donald G. Irvine, torpedoed and sank the 6,890 ton Japanese merchant cargo ship Eiso Maru off the northern coast of Honshu, Japan.
